The question that begs to be answered is how to be at cause. To be at cause means that you accept the responsibility of your life. Instead of letting other people or circumstances determine your life. For instance, when I was selling insurance, the marketing I received was sketchy at best. One week I would have tons of phone calls. The next I would be twiddling my thumbs looking for something to do. Oftentimes as I sat and felt sorry for myself, I blamed the marketing department. Sometimes I would blame bad luck or just the shear law of large numbers. Have you ever been there? Its a position that everyone gets into in some part of their life.
The only answer is to look at your situation, and ask “How am I at cause for this?” That question will lead you to some profound answers. Answers that might have been coming to you, but you had ignored them. I suggest you listen to them. In fact, write them down. Make a list of all of the different ways that you brought this situation into your life. Most importantly, how can you change you current actions, in order to change your outcomes.
When I did this back when selling insurance, I realized that my closing ratio needed to be higher. There just weren’t as many calls, so I decided I brought that into my life to become a better sales person. What have you brought into your life in order to make you better?
