I have to change my beliefs everyday. So do you. Think about it… yesterday you believed today was tomorrow and yesterday was today. You changed your beliefs. I used to believe “I am 6 years old.” I no longer believe that. But I did at one time. So how can you tap into that great power of your mind to change beliefs about yourself to make yourself more confident?
Changing beliefs is actually very easy with NLP.
Take for example the belief that you are insecure. The most basic NLP belief change would be to imagine on your minds movie screen the location of this belief that you want to change. Just imagine what it looks like for you to be insecure, and notice the location. Front, back, high, low, near, far, etc. Now take that image and move it into the location of something you used to believe (such as the belief that you are 6 years old).
Now making the change more powerful, take the imagined image of yourself being the way you want to be: confident, powerful, radiant etc and move that image to something you absolutely believe. An absolute belief may be “the sun comes up every day” or “I live in the U.S.”
Now you have removed the belief that you are insecure and instilled the belief that you are confident, powerful, radiant, etc. There are actually several other NLP techniques that work to change beliefs as well.
From my experience NLP tends to work faster and are more effective than traditional hypnosis on eliminating limiting beliefs.
